ERIC ROLLS is a poet and historian whose controversial writing on subjects ranging from native fauna to human sexuality have fuelled debate in literary pages here and abroad. He has written many award-winning books: Sheaf Tosser; They All Ran Wild; The River; A Million Acres; The Green Mosaic; Celebration of the Senses; Doorways: A Year of the Cumberdeen Diaries; Selected Poems; and From Forest to Sea as well as Sojourners and Citizens, which tell of the centuries-old relationship between China and Australia. His most recent publication A Celebration of Food & Wine was first published in three separate volumes and later released as a combined edition. Eric Rolls holds an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Canberra and is a Fellow of the Australian Academy of the Humanities. He became an Australian Creative Fellow in 1991 and a Member of the Order of Australia for services to Literature and environmental awareness in 1992. He lives at North Haven on the mid north coast of New South Wales where fishing is his reward for a good day’s writing. The first volume of his dynamic two volume work The Growth of Australia will be published by UQP in the new millennium.
