The Moment Made Marvellous: Three Decades Of Uqp Poetry

Author: Thomas Shapcott

With poems by 70 of Australia's finest contemporary poets, this incomparable selection provides a delectable tour of our poetry from 1968 to 1998. Over 160 poems have been selected. They range from writers who secured their reputations more than fifty years ago. John Blight, David Rowbotham, John Manifold . to the generation that has risen to prominence in the 1990s: Dorothy Porter, Anthony Lawrence, Judith Beveridge. In between are the generation of poets who made the 1970s one of the turning points in Australian poetry and, with the Paperback Poets series, the University of Queensland Press a major publisher of cutting edge creative writing: David Malouf, Judith Rodriguez, Rodney Hall, Michael Dransfield and their contemporaries. Tied together by image and theme, this collection is divided into six parts, emphasising the richness and diversity of poetry published by UQP over three decades. An anthology based on the best of all the poetry by UQP in celebration of its first 50 years.
