Fisher, Fedora

Fedora Gould Fisher began her career as an Army Education Officer in Darwin in 1943. In private life she became a remedial teacher. From 1970, as a project of the newly formed Alumni Association of the University of Queensland, she and her husband, the late Len Fisher, travelled widely to acquire sources of Australian art, literature and history on behalf of the Fryer Library. After gaining an MA in History, Fedora spent several years compiling information from family members and associates as well as researching archives in Australia and overseas for her book, Raphael Cilento: A Biography (UQP 1994).
