Brown, Alan

Alan Brown lived most of his life in the north of England and now resides in the beautiful Peak District. His hobbies are walking, tennis and playing the flute and he has recently taken up wood carving. Alan’s writing is usually concerned with ecology and the environment, or with myth and legend, and sometimes with both. Alan has written several picture books about animals and plants, including Windhover (kestrels), Old Hushwing (barn owls), Humbugs (bees) and The Dreaming Tree (cherry trees). In writing Turtle\'s Song he fell in love with coral reefs and their inhabitants.
