Linda Sue Park is the author of A Single Shard, which was awarded theprestigious Newbery Medal by the American Library Association in 2002, for themost distinguished contribution to American literature for children. She haswritten many other award-winning picture books and novels for young people. Thedaughter of immigrant parents, Ms. Park draws on her Korean ancestry for muchof her work.
