Charles Buckmaster: Collected Poems

Charles Buckmaster is an enigmatic figure among Australia's new poetry generation of the 1960s. In the year of his suicide at the age of 21, he destroyed all his manuscripts, leaving only one major publication "The Lost Forest" (Prism, 1971) and the self-published "Deep Blue and Green" (1970). Yet with no more than 45 known poems, Buckmaster is widely anthologised and his name is irrefutably linked with contemporary Asutralian poetry and its development. Poet and long-time friend Simon MacDonald has worked since shortly after Buckmaster's death to collect further poems and material from personal correspondence, magazines and journals. This volume contains over 100 poems and includes Buckmaster's personal notes and miscellaneous writings.
