Stephen Measday’s novels for children and young adults have been published internationally. He is also an award-winning scriptwriter. At the age of sixteen, he “talked his way” into the media by becoming ABC correspondent for Crystal Brook, South Australia. Later he became a full-time journalist who conducted doorstop interviews with prime ministers. Later, he decided to extend his creative talent in new directions and write for theatre, film and television. His scriptwriting work has included Mirror, Mirror 2, The Ferals, Ship to Shore, Sky Trackers, The Time Game and episodes of A Country Practice and Clue Heelers. Previous book publications – The Giant Spiders, A Pig Called Francis Bacon and My Friend Roger Bacon – have featured animals. Stephen is now making the effort to understand human beings and write more about them. The News They Didn’t Use (UQP 1995) was followed by the investigative sequel The News on Aliens (UQP 1997).
