Dr Joanne Scott teaches Australian history and Australian studies at the University of the Sunshine Coast. She has published in the areas of labour history, race and gender relations, popular culture, oral history and the history of education. She is co-author of A Class of its Own (1999) and co-editor of The World’s First Labor Government (2001). Her most recent publication is The Engine Room of Government: The Queensland Premier's Department 1859-2001, co-authored with Ross Laurie, Bronwyn Stevens and Patrick Weller.
