Patrick Weller, Professor of Politics at Griffith University, has written extensively on Australian and comparative politics, in particular, on the area of executive governance. His books include Malcolm Fraser PM (1989), Dodging Raindrops: John Button (1999) and Australia’s Mandarins (2001). He is co-editor of New Ideas? Better Government (1995), The Hollow Crown (1997) and Institutions on the Edge? Capacity for Governance (2000). His most recent book publication is The Engine Room of Government: The Queensland Premier's Department 1859-2001, co-authored with Joanne Scott, Ross Laurie and Bronwyn Stevens.
