0 Titles
Patrick Collins’ maternal great-grandparents migrated to Australia from Ireland to escape the post-famine poverty of the 1850s. From gold mining and tank sinking, they and Patrick’s grandfather acquired sheep stations, only to lose them to floods and family divisions. Patrick “escaped” his family’s Brisbane dairy farm to become a teacher and then a psychologist, working as a student counsellor and lecturer in psychology. His MEd studies from the University of Queensland included an internship in relationship counselling. He has also worked in private practice and as a regular guest counsellor on talkback radio. In recent years he has published several articles on colonial Australian history. Goodbye Bussamarai, his most significant work, is an expression of his dual passions for history and social psychology. To him, one makes no sense without the other. Patrick is married, with two sons and four grandchildren.
