A graduate of the universities of Western Australia, Melbourne and Oxford, Fiona Giles has worked in academia, publishing and journalism. She currently lives in Sydney with her husband and son. Fiona Giles has edited four books of women’s writing, including From the Verandah: Stories of Love an Landscape by Nineteenth Century Australian Women (joint winner of the Bicentennial Anthology Award); Melanie; and Dick For A Day: What Would You Do If You Had One? Recent publications are Chick For A Day and Fresh Milk. Too Far Everywhere, published by UQP in 1998, is a full-length study focusing on romance novels written by Australian women writers in the nineteenth century.
